01/02/10 0 CommentsDear Carrie,
Hey Carrie, Gosh I don’t even know where to begin… God bless you, first of all. You are an AMAZING PERSON, Carrie. You are an inspiration to all of us. You make me want to be a better person everyday, and to live my life to the fullest. I have supported you ever since your American Idol days. You were amazing on that show, and you have grown since then to become even more beautiful, talented, and inspiring. I remember when you won the show I was standing in my parent’s bedroom and when Ryan said your name I SCREAMED and my dad came running upstairs asking if everything was alright. That was one of the best days ever!! I could tell you so many more stories about watching you on award shows, buying every magazine you’re in, being the first to buy your CDs and listen to them over and over again. Carrie, as crazy as this may sound, you have made me a better person. I thank God everyday for introducing me to you and your music, because you make the world a better place. You are truly a blessing. I am nervous just writing this because I have so much to say and I look up to you so much and want to be like you in every way possible. You are so beautiful, both inside and out. I admire you so much for staying true to yourself and sticking to your roots and not letting the spotlight change who you are as a person. Carrie, if I could grow up to become half the person you are, I would be so grateful. You have helped me through so much in my life simply by motivating me with your music, lending a helping hand by singing and doing what you love. Whenever I am stressed or sad, anxious or angry, I listen to your music and it always puts me at ease. You are such an honorable woman Carrie, one that we all aspire to be like. I am currently in my second year of college, and I find myself very much like you. I remember one of the quotes in an interview you did when you said “I went out once in a while, but most of the time I was at home sitting on the couch by myself”. When I read that, I instantly felt even more of a connection with you because I am the same way. I am not into the party scene in college. I can proudly say I have never had a sip of alcohol in my life. I spend my weekends in my dorm, doing homework, studying, watching movies, or talking with my residents (I am an RA this year and I absolutely love it!). Sometimes I feel left out or I wonder what’s wrong with me because I consider myself to be an abnormal college student since I am not into drinking and partying. I am very shy and very much of a home-body. Family is NUMBER ONE in my life, so leaving them to go to college two hours from home was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. In high school, I would always stay home and be with family… something about knowing that we were all under one roof gave me a sense of security and safety. College was a huge adjustment for me, as I’m sure it was for you, and your story and your music helped ease the pain a bit. For my 18th birthday my mom got me tickets to see you perform at the Delaware State Fair on July 22, 2008. THAT WAS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!! I screamed when I opened the tickets!!! My mom does a funny impression of how I acted at the concert… I was like a kid in a candy shop and I was ECSTATIC when you finally came on stage!!. I stood up the ENTIRE time and belted out the words to every song! I was on cloud nine the entire time, before, during, and after. I will NEVER forget that day. You were AMAZING!! GAHHH I LOVE YOU SO MUCH CARRIE!! If only you knew how much I looked up to you, how much I admire all that you have done and all that I know you are going to do. Your performance of “Just a Dream” at the 2008 CMA awards made my bawl and warmed my heart. That is the Carrie we all know and love. Carrie, I don’t know what I want to do with my life. I have said I did up until now, but at this point I am not so sure anymore. I would like to go to medical school, and am not exactly sure what I want to major in (possibly neuroscience), but all I know is that whatever I end up doing, I want to help people and know that I am making a difference in people’s lives. I am a very hard worker, and although I am smart, I am definitely not the smartest person in my class by any means. But I pride myself on my dedication, self-motivation, and my big heart. Simply put, I love helping people. I love working with kids, so I know that whatever I end up doing is going to do with children, because they are so full of hope. I’m sorry I have written so much. I could go on and on but I know you don’t have time to read it all. So for now I will leave you with this. Carrie, thank you for being YOU. I have never met you (but it is my dream to meet you!!), but I already know you are a kind, caring, determined, smart, charismatic, helpful, poised, compassionate, devoted, hopeful, and beautiful human being. You make me a better person. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
With love,
Taylor SwartP.S. I will be at your opening concert of the Play On tour in Reading, PA on March 11(the day after your birthday!!!) I CANNOT WAIT!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO UNBELIEVABLY EXCITED!!!! See you there!!
